More specifically, after you submit the part for inclusion in the L-CAD update,
we do some more research to try to find the 'correct' number. If no number can
be found, the partfile will be given a 3-digit number.
For your own work, you can use any file name for the part.
If there is a reason that having a number is important, e-mail me at
partsref@worldnet.att.net with information about the part (description, image, %
complete, whatever) and we can deal with it on a case-by-case basis.

You can submit parts by e-mailing them to me at partsref@worldnet.att.net. I
prefer attachments, but including the file-text in the message works (almost) as
well. I haven't received (m)any in MPD format, but that would be a possibility.
If you are submitting several parts (possibly with subparts), ZIP'ing them isn't
a bad idea, either.

It will probably pass voting if it doesn't *need* conditional lines. ;)
Also, search lugnet.cad.* for previous discussion of this topic.
