i have a friend who has a small collection of lego. that is where i
origonally got the reference piece for the mast base and 1 x 2 x 1 black
grill pannel from, amongst other pieces...
this person has the 9v battery box (small). if i were to borrow it from
him and model it would i have to model the stuff in the inside? such as
the batery contacts and the battery sticker?

That would be the ideal, but it would probably get in without that stuff,
since the battery box is basically never used such that the insides show.  It
should be done as three parts, though:  the box, the cover, and the button.
