Is L3P supposed to substitute for the 2-4cyls.dat primitive?
I just L3P'd the Minifig Longbow, and it looked great except for the
2-4cyls.dat which were turned into quads and really stood out.

No, none of the cyls primitives are currently substituted.
Type "l3p -pp" to see a list of L3P's POV-equivalents.

When I started primitive substitution, I ran through all parts and
counted the usage of the primitives. Not surprisingly stud.dat came in as
a clear number one. I then made POV-equivalents for the most frequently
used primitives (plus some of the easy ones like 8-8sphe.dat :-)

I'll add the cyls to my to-do list.
