  My CAD development effort

Hello, It's been a while since I've posted to this forum. Unfortunately due to an increased workload in my professional life, as well as other commitments in my personal life, and things like undergoing laser eye surgery, the release of the first (...) (25 years ago, 5-Dec-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Partsref is Moving to LUGNET

(...) I'm not sure I want to do them all (though the list was much shorter than I thought it would be), but here's a start, the very first on the list. Here are the sets (that I know of) released since 1992, with black 1x1 bricks, sorted reverse on (...) (25 years ago, 5-Dec-99, to lugnet.cad.dev, lugnet.db.brictionary)

Re: FIRST Lego Leage competition at MSI Chicago

(...) Tom, Its great to hear from someone involved with one of the First teams! My ideas for LDraw and the teams would simply be for the kids to learn how to program their robot design into the computer to document its construction etc. LDraw (...)   Re: Line in the Sand

Sorry this is so long. I've tried to err on the side of quoting too much of Lars' message, rather than too little. Also, I've tried to be thourough in my replies. In related news, I've added a 'Current Issues' section at the top of the v4 document. (...) (25 years ago, 5-Dec-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

FIRST Lego Leage competition at MSI Chicago

I just returned from the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago where they held the Illinois state FIRST Lego League Mindstorms competition. FIRST is an organization that uses Lego Mindstorms to help prommote kids pursuing careers in engineering (...)   Re: Partsref is Moving to LUGNET

(...) Todd and Joshua D. have an amazing number inventoried, between them. At least that's my suspicion. It's convincing them to make the data available in a format I can run reverse queries against that is the hard part. (25 years ago, 4-Dec-99, to lugnet.cad.dev, lugnet.db.brictionary)

  Re: Line in the Sand

Steve Bliss wrote... (...) I prefer the newer with only one new meta-statement. This easily identifies commands related to BFC. However, the syntactical change doesn't solve the discussion about the CERTIFY option, see later. I have some suggestions (...) (25 years ago, 4-Dec-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Partsref is Moving to LUGNET

(...) lugnet.general? lugnet.helpwanted? The current problem is that there aren't that many published inventories for current sets. So you need to hook up to someone who is A-R enough to inventory everything themselves,. Steve (25 years ago, 3-Dec-99, to lugnet.cad.dev, lugnet.db.brictionary)

Re: Partsref is Moving to LUGNET

(...) I'm going to need to keep a vanilla installation, just for partsref generation. It's too tempting to make minor edits to part files in my regular installation. And, if I'm going to have two copies of LDraw, I'd rather have "working" and (...) (25 years ago, 3-Dec-99, to lugnet.cad.dev, lugnet.db.brictionary, lugnet.cad.ray)

Re: Partsref is Moving to LUGNET

[should've snipped the ng list, but I didn't--couldn't decide which to keep/exclude] (...) So, as both the new Keeper of the LDraw Library and the Keeper of the Partsref Pages, I could build a make, and apply it everytime I get new candidate files (...)
