From memory the internal parts catalogue system is made up of three
components:
1) The catalogue which shows images of all 2000 or so parts broken down
into themes and further into "classifications".
2) A second catalogue which details the colour codes of each part that is
available. This is used to establish the pricing for a particular piece.
3) The price catalogue.
Presumably you're referring to 1) It's made up of two folders and each
branch of LEGO ie LEGO NZ, LEGO UK only gets one set per year.
These catalogues are closely guarded by LEGO even though some of the
information is freely available in parts repositories on the internet.
You may want to make mention that parts information is freely available on
the net when you next make an approach to them, if you haven't done so
already.

| Last week I sent a letter to LEGO Systems, asking whether a listing of all parts was available (and offered to compensate them for their trouble if they'd send me a copy). They just called me and said that the document I wanted was "for internal use (...) (25 years ago, 30-Sep-99, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)
