That way you can control your work better, other will take a look at it and certify it, you can update it easily yourself if necessary and in the end it gets released a loooot faster. (...) To prevent accidental re-use of existing numbers, the ldraw.org Parts Tracker prevents the uploading of parts with numbers which have already been released. So all _corrections_ to released parts need to be sent to Steve Bliss for manual (...) (23 years ago, 22-Nov-01, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)
