I just noticed that part 4773 (Light & Sound Colored Globe) seems to have a
few problems.  There are two gaps around the outside (the top one is
extremely narrow).  Oddly enough, one of the gaps is caused by the fact that
the outside cylinder is modeled with two separate cylinders stacked on top
of each other.  The same thing is done on the cylindrical inside of the
part, but the two cylinders meet up.  From a rendering performance
standpoint, this part would be faster if each of these pairs was turned into
a single cylinder.

Given how small this piece is, you have to zoom way in before the gaps are
noticable (1000%-2000% in L3Lab).  Since my LDView program auto-zooms, it
was pretty obvious when I first opened the file.

I fixed the gaps and adjusted the cylinders in order to remove the redundant
cylinders.  I also replaced the 16 quads that were forming a ring around the
bottom with four 1/4 rings (there isn't currently a 4-4ring3 primitive).
Here is the fixed version (sent to partsref@home.com as well).  Since I
don't believe I actually own one of these parts, it is possible that it was
in its original condition for a reason.  However, given that this allowed
you to look into what should have been solid plastice, :

(...) Actually, for historical reasons, the "4-4ring3.dat" primitive is named "ring3.dat". Chris (24 years ago, 19-Sep-00, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)
