Hi all.

I am working on modeling the castle sets falcon.  Can anyone give me the
part number for it?

Also, with coloring, it is also the parrot from the Islander set, so I
need that part number as well.  Does anyone know of any pictures of the
parrot on-line?  I personally never bought a set with one in it.

Thanks, Dennis.
I think it will be very difficult for you to do a good job of modelling this
part without an actual example in your hand. I think we agreed sometime back
that such parts would at best be considered mock-ups and not considered for
the parts voting.

Hmm... does that apply to colorations too?

Yes.

Probably a good idea. However,
suppose someone has (doing a hypothetical here) done a good job of modeling,
say, the MTron logo from an actual part, applied it to every part he has a
real example of, but then wants to extend it to the one thinwall type that
he *doesn't* have an example of. It's a flat coloration, is THAT a bad idea.

Depends -- will other people vouch that the pattern on the panel (thinwall)
is *exactly* the same (except for size) as the one on the 2x3 slope?

I would say yes, just on principle. Don't make exceptions to rules.

Don't let principles stand in the way of good part files. ;)/:|

But it'd probably be easier just to send Dennis a couple of red parrots,
when he's ready for them.  And sidestep the whole principles vs. results issue.

Steve

(...) Maybe I misread the initial post. If it if only the decorated parrot you do not have in hand then I can loan you one - when you need it. Good luck with the basic part though. Chris (24 years ago, 28-Jul-00, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)
