Here's my Point Motor for trains. You'll need directional 9V input, from a
two-button battery box, a train controller or a polarity switch. You'll
also need two elastic bands, of slightly larger diameter than the two
wedgebelt wheel pulleys. Axles are 3, 4 and 6 in length.
Remove the yellow lever from the point, and push the 1x4 liftarm right down
onto the two pegs of the sliding part of the point. Make sure that BOTH the
large cross end AND the first circular hole of the liftarm are over the pegs.
Fit the motor unit over the top so that the 1x3 plate at the front sits on
the three raised studs on top of the point. Poke a long axle through the
hole in the top of the unit to push the technic half-pin through the moving
rack and into the second hole of the liftarm.
Trust me, it makes sense once you've built it...
