Re: non-lego rendering using various LDraw tools

(...) Err, reverse course. I peeked at the autotrace source and it says in pxl-outline.c "Outside outlines are traced counterclockwise". So if you want to make things easier for me, do it that way. ;^) (...) (22 years ago, 23-Sep-04, to lugnet.cad.dat.ideas, FTX)

Re: non-lego rendering using various LDraw tools

(...) I'd imagine so. I don't actually use Cygwin. I use the (URL) mingw> version of gcc on Windows because I don't want to worry about the Cygwin unix compatibility DLL. (...) It's not too hard to detect holes while you're vectorizing edges, just (...) (22 years ago, 23-Sep-04, to lugnet.cad.dat.ideas, FTX)

Re: non-lego rendering using various LDraw tools

(...) Yep, thanks for doing that. Then I turned around and installed Cygwin, so now I probably have gcc available -- I think. (...) Heh. Yeah, considering how raw my edge-construction code is, a few small math errors wouldn't be noticeable. And the (...) (22 years ago, 23-Sep-04, to lugnet.cad.dat.ideas, FTX)

Re: non-lego rendering using various LDraw tools

(...) Hey, that's pretty cool. Did you use the Triangle executable I built? I replaced it with a new build containing the math fix Travis mentioned, but forgot to mention that I did so. I guess whatever you used must've worked though. (...) How does (...) (22 years ago, 23-Sep-04, to lugnet.cad.dat.ideas, FTX)

non-lego rendering using various LDraw tools

I've been messing around with a rendered scene for a music CD-R. I'm really happy with how it turned out, so I thought I'd share it. More on-topic, I used a number of LDraw tools in the creation process. (URL) Rendered CD booklet cover>> Bonus (...) (22 years ago, 23-Sep-04, to lugnet.cad.dat.ideas, FTX)

Re: Cockpits, and Facets, and Ninja, oh my!

(...) Unfortunately I haven't worked on the other two dragon body parts the last months. The head-details takes me to trouble. nad then there is only the outer hull. See here: (URL) would be glad, if anybody else wants to complete the parts. CU (...) (22 years ago, 27-Jul-04, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.mlcad, lugnet.cad.dat.ideas, lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: Cockpits, and Facets, and Ninja, oh my!

(...) Hmm, yes it would have. So would other parts with weird curvy surfaces like the flame/seaweed piece (considering the fact that the first dragon's body parts have all been completed, I'm surprised that I can't find that part anywhere). (...) I (...) (22 years ago, 25-Jul-04, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.mlcad, lugnet.cad.dat.ideas, lugnet.cad.dat.parts, FTX)

Re: Cockpits, and Facets, and Ninja, oh my!

(...) Aack! This would've been a nice part to (URL) 3D Scan>. But short of FedExing the part to me at my hotel (as I don't have one on hand) that's probably not gonna happen.. I could try to have one of my students take a stab at it in 3DStudio or (...) (22 years ago, 25-Jul-04, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.mlcad, lugnet.cad.dat.ideas, lugnet.cad.dat.parts, FTX)

Cockpits, and Facets, and Ninja, oh my!

I downloaded copies of LDraw and MLcad a few days ago, and I've been building digital versions of a few of my models, but I ran into a couple of problems: 1. Using MLcad, I couldn't get (URL) this piece> to close flush to (URL) this piece>. There (...)
