Okay, here's my X-Wing.
It's actually a new prototype, the Colt-Grunthauser X-Beta 2. You can
see that is utilizes two astrogator droids. The addition of an extra R2
or R4 unit was to increase the speed of jump calculations. However, it
resulted in two highly paranoid and schizophrenic droids in control of
the starfighter. As a result of this, every available prototype built
was eventually piloted directly into a different variable J-class
pulsar, against the wishes of the pilot.
Needless to say, the entire design was scrapped.
