i will just have to get the pics up of all the drumsets and guitars and
other sound stage items i have made.  to do the drumset, i used th esame
symbol elements.  for the kick drums, a 4x4 radar dish was used.  the
2x2 cylinders and round plates were used for tom-tom drums.  for sticks,
hacked off anttenae were used.  and many of the symbol stand antennae
were bent to make the symbol face the drummer...pics forth comming..

What instruments (besides guitars and such) have people made for Minifigs?

I've had a bash at a drumkit, with the 2x2 radar dish/bin lids making nice
cymbals and with a 2x2 round brick as bass drum. I planned to use 1x1 • plates
for just about every other drum, but it was difficult to actually hold
together in any way. And looked a bit cack.

Aside from that, I recall building the piano from the 1980 ideas book,
stripey sticker and all!
Hey, I got that book. I need to look at it again.

I made keyboards (just with plain white 1x4 tiles) and a drum kit, except I
used an old 4x4 round turntable for the bass, as 2x2 wasn't big enough for me.
Made some acceptable mic stands too. Photos forth coming from me also. I'm
investigating more musical options too, though nothing yet. It would be cool • if
TLG made 2x2 radar dishes in gold for cymbals.

Sproaticus made a great stand-up bass using the basic Brickenrocker guitar
design but instead of the 2x2 plate (round, L or normal) attached to the
grilled tile, he used a 2x2 plate with wheel pegs that had two 1x2 single stud
plates stuck on it. I think he has it on one of his pages.

Harmonica: easy... just use a 1x2 tile, ideal for the WW theme. I got an idea
for a banjo, but I want to check it out first.

Try this for a piano.   It might be a bit small for a minifig, but when
compared to say, a standard minifig car, it's OK.
