Here's a basic version of the part that holds on the Darth Vader's TIE Fighter panels.
This is a mockup only -- the biggest problem is that the slopes are missing their insides. But
that's not the only missing stuff.
Also, inside the peg-holes, there are slight changes in diameter. This is so the technic pegs will
click in place, but the diameter difference is too small to model in LDraw. Also, these tubes will
not grip a stud. If I finish this part, and submit it for voting, would it be acceptable to leave
these tubes the way they are -- they're drawn with a radius-6 cylinder, and the diameter breaks are
just marked with a 4-4edge primitive.
One tube construction is marked below, if you want to study it.
