In some models you would use a part that is made up from different parts.
Take the minifig body for instance. It is always complete with arms and
hands, but you construct it using 5 parts. This shows up in the BOM. Hand
2x, arm left 1x, arm right 1x, torso 1x.
Take another part like 122C01 (Plate 2x2 with wheels in red) combined with
tyres 3641. I too usually comes as one part.
Also parts 3937 and 3938 (hinge 1x2 base and top)
My idea: create a meta command that allows you to combine parts as one part
that will show like one part in the BOM LPub creates for you. Example:
Hinge bricks 3830 and 3831 also come together as "one" part. Provide
something like this
0 WRITE TREATASPART BEGIN
1 0 0 0 0 0 0 -1 0 1 0 1 0 0 3831.DAT
1 0 0 0 0 0.5 0 -0.866025 0 1 0 0.866025 0 0.5 3830.DAT
0 WRITE TREATASPART END

| Jaco, Good idea! Except that it already exists in LPub. :^) Try this: PLIST BEGIN SUB <minifig.ldr> 1 0 0 0 0 0 0 -1 0 1 0 1 0 0 3831.DAT 1 0 0 0 0 0.5 0 -0.866025 0 1 0 0.866025 0 0.5 3830.DAT PLIST END In minifig.ldr, assemble the minifig as you (...) (22 years ago, 18-Apr-03, to lugnet.cad)
