The absence of monorail parts for the Ldraw and MLCad library has become
intolerable. The short and long straight, the station stop, and the curve
tracks have been pretty well blocked out. The switch pieces are under
construction. The stub pieces for the switches are under consideration (the
odd ends are a pain!); the fact that two of them add up to a full curve will
probably be a great help when the time comes.

In order to complete these and to not suffer a re-build after posting the .dat
files, would it be possible to obtain consensus on some basics?
1) the long straight tracks (2671) are 640 LU long
2) the station stop (2774) is 320 LU long
3) the short straight (2670) is 160 LU long
4) the radius of the curve (2672) is 560 LU
5) the track width is 80 LU
6) the faces with the side-studs are 56 LU apart
7) there are 160 teeth on the cog-spline down the center of the long straight
8) there are 80 teethe on the cog-spline of the station stop
9) there are 40 teeth on the cog-spline of the short straight (actual count 41…
but that doesn't work well with the next basic)
10) the cog teeth are 4 LU long and 3 LU deep (this makes the construction a
bunch easier than any alternative)
11) using a depth of 16 LU for the lowest portion of the track piece
v the base of the track is 11LU
v the upper surface of the track is -9 LU
v the upper surface of the cog-spine is -16 LU
12) with few exceptions, the wall thicknesses (interior and exterior) are 4 LU
(there are some with a 3 LU thickness on the inside)

Questions
1) How important are the interior cross-brace pieces?
2) What is the spacing of the slots for the switch's moving parts?
3) Is the curve on the curved side of the switch really just an off-set of a
regular curve?
4) What in the world is the geometry of the stub part of the switch end?
5) How important is the deep slot on the underside of the track?
6) Where should the 0,0,0 location be on the various pieces?
7) What's a good way of modeling the turntable on the station stop piece?
8) Where would be a good place to post these files (some are several thousand
lines long)?
9) Any other information the might be of significance?

All the work done to date has been completed with brute power of BIG
spreadsheets and LOTS of time staring at the monitor. Any help from the LDraw
artists would be greatly appreciated.

Any volunteers for the monorail motor, trailers and bogie plates?
