For straight viewing of models (especially from lugnet postings), you
should go get a copy of L3Lab.  I think if you go to
<http://www.ldraw.org/download/>, you can get a link to L3Lab.

Once you've got L3Lab installed, run it.  Go into the File menu, and then
Register File Types.  Choose DAT And MPD.

From that point on, you should be able to launch DAT content directly from
your browser into L3Lab.  Just click the links labeled [DAT].
