I guess I should have dimmed "Write POV file..." in stead of just showing that message :-)

The POV generation from L3Lab is not fully tested. The main functionality is OK,
which means it will do alright for most models.
However, there is a known problem when generating a POV file for the second time
if you are using TRANSFORM/ROTATE/SCALE/TRANSLATE meta commands.
L3P is a one-shot program, L3Lab needs to zero some flags before subsequent runs
when using the L3P code.

And you seem to have spotted another problem:

C:\ldraw models\robot1.pov:1523: error:= expected but undeclared
identifier 'models_slash_robot1_dot_dat'found instead.

I figure It doesnt like something with the filename?

Yes, try using a directory name without spaces.
