No, it would not.  Per the charter of cad.dat.* groups, only .dat files and
followups to them should be posted there.  If you want to post a link to a
.dat file located on your site, you can post to lugnet.cad.

  I really need to start reading the charters of the groups I'm posting to 8^P


So what's this big project?

  It's a church somewhat based on St. Thomas Cathedral in (I think) Germany.
It's the largest LDraw thing I've attempted, and I'm doing it in sections.
Just one of the two towers has about 1800 lines.  I plan to go back and
consolidate pieces where possible--one 2x8 instead of two 2x4's, etc...
