I don't think I understand this (but I think I have a
solution to your actual problem).

You should use what we call "sub models" in LDraw-lingo.
Build three models:
- Basement/street level (basement.dat)
- One floor (onefloor.dat)
- Roof (roof.dat)
Now you can make a single storey building like this
(assuming 7 bricks/floor):
1 16 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 1 basement.dat
1 16 0 -168 0 1 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 1 roof.dat
Or a four storey building like this:
1 16 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 1 basement.dat
1 16 0 -168 0 1 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 1 onefloor.dat
1 16 0 -336 0 1 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 1 onefloor.dat
1 16 0 -504 0 1 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 1 onefloor.dat
1 16 0 -672 0 1 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 1 roof.dat
Play well,
Jacob

| I looked around and could not find myself an answer to this question. Please forgive me if I have missed something obvious. Is it possible to bring a full model into ldraw and then explode it back into the pieces that form it? I am trying to build a (...) (25 years ago, 10-Sep-99, to lugnet.cad)
