Fredrik Glöckner answered John VanZwieten:
I L3P'd a part I'm working on which was colored tan (382).  But in
POV, the part came out gray (7).

It's a \(bug\|feature\) in L3P: If there's only one part in the model,
it's rendered grey.  You can solve this by manually altering
the colour as you've already done.

I consider it a bug in L3P, as L3P should circumvent the "strange"
behaviour of POV, see also http://www.lugnet.com/cad/?n=1285

Since hard-colored parts are now possible, I'll try to make a fix.

try color 487 in ldraw john

Colors 382 and 487 are the same color in L3P, but edges may show up
differently in LDraw, because it matters whether you mix 7 and 14
or 14 and 7, see http://www.lugnet.com/cad/?n=2039
