AFAIK, the parts used to match the official LDraw format, but that may have been (...) (14 years ago, 12-Dec-10, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

| | | | (...) Sorry for the delay. Yes, all sub-parts and primitives must have some BFC command prior to the first action in order for BFC processing to be enabled for the sub-part/primitive. (This is typically 0 BFC CERTIFY, incidentally.) --Travis (14 years ago, 16-Dec-10, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

On my Mac (which has a crappy video card), I get between 10% and 15% improved frame rate on LDView's 8464.mpd sample model with default LDView settings vs. the same settings with BFC disabled. Having said that, (...) (14 years ago, 16-Dec-10, to lugnet.cad)

Also, when you say "BFC errors", I assuming you're talking about places where the BFC winding is wrong, which results in improper rendering (...) (14 years ago, 21-Dec-10, to lugnet.cad, FTX)
