Bricksmith 2.1 adds the following features:
  • Step rotations (MLCad ROTSTEPs)
  • Streamlined Step Display UI
  • Moved file outline to the main window
  • Improved line appearance
  • Toolbar buttons for Part Browser, Inspector, and Colors
It also fixes the following bugs:
  • Fixed MLCad/LDraw spec compatibility issue which caused files containing multiple submodels to not render correctly in MLCad. (All model names are now internally forced to end in .ldr; old files will be automatically fixed as they are opened.)
  • LDraw/ldconfig.ldr is now read; previously Bricksmith would only refer to an internal copy
  • Renaming a submodel also renames all references to it
  • Duplicating models adds a “copy X” suffix

Bricksmith now features integrated step rotations, controlled by a UI carefully aimed at helping you navigate the often-baffling waters of step-rotation commands. I hope you’ll find it a considerable improvement over the step rotation controls found in other LDraw editors:

Convenient pop-up menus guide you to making the right selection, but still allow full manual control if you need it. And since the inspector shows you all step rotation options at once, you’ll never be left wondering when to use or how to arrange 0 STEP vs. 0 ROTSTEP commands. Bricksmith does it all for you.

Bricksmith requires Mac OS X 10.4 or later, and may be download at http://bricksmith.sourceforge.net/. It is both Intel and PowerPC native.

Sincerely,
Allen Smith

Hey Allen, Great news! I look forward to giving this version a try. Before Bricksmith I always used to feel slightly under serviced by my Mac ; ) God Bless, Nathan (URL) (16 years ago, 27-Jan-09, to lugnet.cad.dev.mac, FTX)
