Hi folks,

At www.ldraw.org you will find a list of files in the official library, whose
original author has not affirmed the CA and therefore need to be re-written by
CA-authors.

http://www.ldraw.org/Article468.html

William Howard and Guy Vivan have already put a lot of effort in this task:

http://news.lugnet.com/cad/dev/org/ldraw/?n=3754

with only a few parts left but also those have to be substituted. If anyone
would like to re-write these from scratch - without copying the original
author's work, then please do so and send to the LDraw admins
(parts@ldraw*no-spam-please*.org) for submission to the Parts Tracker.

As we go through the library to reformat the headers, we may find other files
with significant changes made by non-CA authors. We'll deal with those on a case
by case basis.

Sorry to sound negative, but this is just a waste of time.

LEGOs haven’t been made of CA for decades, so wouldn’t that be the vast majority of parts?

Sorry... I know that in the LEGO CAD world “CA” must stand for something else, but I just couldn’t resist ; )

I've also made a copy of this on the ldraw wiki so that people can edit
themselves in for parts they want to do.

Hmm.  Looking at part-file 30116.dat, it looks like subfile s\30116s01.dat
should be added to the non-CA list.

If you don't feel you can make any of these parts you can also help out by
reviewing those parts that are being replaced. I've included a list at
http://ldraw.org/wiki/index.php/NonCA-Parts_for_review so you can find the parts
in need of review easily.

thx to Philo and Matthew J. Chiles several parts have been rewritten and
submitted to the PT:

http://www.ldraw.org/cgi-bin/ptdetail.cgi?f=parts/30088.dat
http://www.ldraw.org/cgi-bin/ptdetail.cgi?f=parts/4448c01.dat
http://www.ldraw.org/cgi-bin/ptdetail.cgi?f=parts/2994.dat
http://www.ldraw.org/cgi-bin/ptdetail.cgi?f=parts/2494p01.dat
http://www.ldraw.org/cgi-bin/ptdetail.cgi?f=parts/2542.dat
http://www.ldraw.org/cgi-bin/ptdetail.cgi?f=parts/2714.dat

I'm monitoring the PT activities but it would be useful to drop me a line when
submitting a re-written part so I can remove it from the list.

Part 905.dat and 905c01.dat done! (sometimes it takes a bit ;-)

I have updated the page at ldraw.org - http://www.ldraw.org/Article468.html as
well as the Wiki - http://www.ldraw.org/wiki/index.php/NonCA-Parts_for_rewriting

Reviewers please give the Re-writes -
