Teal Color (was: Simulating tubes) —Steve Bliss
(...) I don't know if a semi-official decision has been made, but I'd use color #3. It's not an exact match, but it's reasonably close. Steve (26 years ago, 1-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Teal Color (was: Simulating tubes) —Laurentino Martins
(...) I've run a color table and compared the color outputs from LDraw with POV-Ray and I reached the conclusion that they don't match very well. Something that sometimes is greener in LDraw turns out bluish in POV-Ray. The same goes with all the (...) (26 years ago, 1-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Teal Color (was: Simulating tubes) —Steve Bliss
(...) Yes, well, the colors in LDraw aren't very good. Most of them are just the default 16-color palette from the video card. In LDLite, you can redefine the color-values, so you could use whatever color-code you like. I'm hoping that sometime, the (...) (26 years ago, 2-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Teal Color (was: Simulating tubes) —Fredrik Glöckner
(...) Just what LEGO colour does the colour #3 (dark cyan) represent? I don't think I have seen any bricks that are dark cyan, but I may very well be wrong. If this is not in use, can we redefine it to be teal? Fredrik (26 years ago, 2-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Teal Color (was: Simulating tubes) —Steve Bliss
(...) It doesn't. It's just one of the 16 basic VGA colors. (...) That's what I'd like to see. Both to define it as the color code for teal, and (where-ever possible) use a color value appropriate for LEGO-teal. Steve (26 years ago, 2-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Teal Color (was: Simulating tubes) —Fredrik Glöckner
(...) Well, it's certainly got my vote. Fredrik (26 years ago, 2-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Teal Color (was: Simulating tubes) —Laurentino Martins
(...) There are already teal variations in the color combinations LDraw can create. It's just a question of choosing one and make it standard. Anyway, if you choose to chance the palette, the major problem I see is with LDraw. The only way I see we (...) (26 years ago, 3-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Teal Color (was: Simulating tubes) —Laurentino Martins
(...) Why have you done this??? :-( I see you have never had a teal part in your hands! Cyan is NOT teal. Not even close!!! Green is closer! I already enumerated some teal colours that look good in all rendering packages, why didn't you choose one? (...) (26 years ago, 26-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Teal Color (was: Simulating tubes) —Steve Bliss
(...) Have you looked at LDraw's version of yellow? And what about trans-neon green? Or most of the other colors. LDraw's palette should only be considered a rough approximation of the true colors. It makes more sense to assign a solid color (code 0 (...) (26 years ago, 26-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Teal Color (was: Simulating tubes) —Jacob Sparre Andersen
(...) It looked like we needed a decision. If there is a strong wish to change this we should do it soon. What do people say? (...) Wrong. (...) Correct. (...) I think this can be debated, but you could be right. (...) Colour 3 was one of the (...) (26 years ago, 30-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad)
