I need some help sorting out the eight plane window bricks. These have 8 windows
painted onto red or blue stripes. This is separate from the original part,
3001p02, which shows 4 windows on a red centre stripe.

There are two eight window bricks currently in the tracker. I found the set for
one, but couldn't find the set for the other. I also found a third possible
variant.

1)Brick  2 x  4 with Blue and (8) Black Plane Windows Pattern
http://www.ldraw.org/cgi-bin/ptdetail.cgi?f=parts/3001p03.dat
this shows the blue stripe at the ~bottom~ of the brick. That is the brick shown
in the instructions for set 1560:
http://library.brickshelf.com/scans/1000/1560-1974/1560-02.html

2)Brick  2 x  4 with Red and (8) Black Plane Windows Pattern 2
http://www.ldraw.org/cgi-bin/ptdetail.cgi?f=parts/3001p04.dat
this shows a red stripe at the bottom of a brick as well. Which set does this
belong to?

Lugnet shows 698 & 1560 as mates, but the plane window bricks are different.
There is a centre stripe on the 698, and a bottom stripe on the 1560. The centre
stripe brick is not yet in the tracker, but shown in the instructions:
http://library.brickshelf.com/scans/0000/0698-1977/0698-02.html

3)Adding to the confusion is the part in set 1611
http://library.brickshelf.com/scans/1000/1611-1978/1611-02.html
the scans & photo seem to show a red stripe covering the top 2/3's of the brick
with 8 windows, which would make it distinct from the 1/3 stripe versions above.

My questions are:
What set does LDraw part 3001p04 come in?
May we reserve a pattern number for the centre stripe version from 698?
Does the brick shown for 1611 really exist?

Any information is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Clark
