Because the plain version, part 2358.dat, is called
"Baseplate 32 x 32 Road Straight"
So the extra "with Road Pattern" kinda makes sense. :)

That wouldn't work - if we're going to change the name, let's follow the
current rules. The name should end with "with ... Pattern", and it
should match the name of the base part.
There are a good number of roadplates - straight, curve, crossroad, and
tee for 7-, 8- and 9-wide borders. If we're going to change the name of
one file, we should use a system to fix them all. Probably the 8-stud
plates use the best naming system:
"Baseplate 32 x 32 Road 8-Stud <style> [with Pattern]"

We can submit changes at any time -- they get released in an update once
they go through the approval process.
Do you want to work on reorganizing the names for these files?

| why is part 80547.dat called "Baseplate 32 x 32 Road Straight with Road Pattern" and not "Baseplate 32 x 32 Road 7 Stud Straight" ? Can it be changed for next release of Ldraw parts? Thanks (22 years ago, 26-May-03, to lugnet.cad)
