Dealing with bad lines of L(EGO)Draw parts (tutorial)

LDraw parts converted from the (URL) LEGO Universe Team data> suffer from some erroneous edge lines and conditional lines. The conversion tool uses only the angle between facets to decide whether a normal line or an edge line must be created. With a (...) (16 years ago, 8-Jan-09, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

Re: Still no zip file for 2008-01?

(...) snip (...) This is caused by the files: p/box3#8p.dat parts/s/swh2.dat parts/s/swh3.dat ...all of which are empty files in 2008-1. The next version of Bricksmith will not choke on such malformed files; in the meantime, don't use those files (...) (16 years ago, 7-Jan-09, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.dev.mac, FTX)

  Re: L(EGO)Draw parts - 2nd batch

Hi Willy, (...) What about the mention "0 !HISTORY 2007-08-25 {The LEGO Universe Team} Original part shape" for these new parts? Should we change the date? Philo (16 years ago, 6-Jan-09, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: My 2009 wish list for MLCad

Here is something else. * Mode that does not allow meta-commands that violate the restriction for official ldraw parts (those hidden ROTATION meta-commands just after the header, step, rotstep, buff exchg....)   Re: LGPL Datsville

(...) Awesome, guys! I've been exploring hosting options on SourceForge. My preference for a license is CC-LGPL. However, I was unable to find this license in the list of available licenses. Also, I was unsure whether we may reuse the title, (...) (16 years ago, 4-Jan-09, to lugnet.cad)

I'm willing to re-licence the two models that are discussed in this posting (URL) (16 years ago, 4-Jan-09, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: LGPL Datsville

(...) This one is also made by me - (URL) - but that's a model taken directly from my old LEGO idea book, so the *model* belongs to LEGO, the .DAT implementation is mine. (16 years ago, 4-Jan-09, to lugnet.cad)

My 2009 wish list for MLCad

I have prepared a list of new features/improvements I'd like to see in MLCad. Most of these features will be useful mainly to part authors... The list is long, but I would be so happy even if only a few were implemented! Philo File operations Insert (...) (16 years ago, 4-Jan-09, to lugnet.cad.mlcad, FTX)

  Re: Smoothing Question

(...) I've often felt it unfortunate that the LDraw format doesn't support normal vectors. They're not a substitute for cone/cylinder replacements, but they go a long way toward making objects *look* smoother. -Mike (16 years ago, 4-Jan-09, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

  LGPL Datsville

I was wondering if there was any interest in tracking down the original authors of Datsville and seeing whethere they would be interested in changing the license of the models for Datsville. Basically, I am interested in maybe uploading the town to (...) (16 years ago, 4-Jan-09, to lugnet.cad)

Re: LDraw Design Pad v2.0 Released

(...) The only significant change since the last beta (beta 4 I believe) is that I completely removed the model tree view/mpd explorer. I just couldn't figure out how I wanted to structure this feature. I've removed it until I can get a handle on (...) (16 years ago, 4-Jan-09, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Smoothing Question

(...) I think I know what you are saying but I don't actually know how to do it. I think you saying that instead of calling the subparts from the main part file I should just insert everything into the main file. Does this mean I need to try to (...) (16 years ago, 3-Jan-09, to lugnet.cad, FTX)
