  first vig: bad hair day

i'm not known in my lug for dealing well with small-scale projects. i like to build big, so when our may meeting's challenge was to come up with a vig, i balked, i hemmed, i hawed, i gave in. it's not a theme that most afols may be familiar with - (...)   Re: Space Vignette: Asphyxiate, Too

Hehe, rich! This is a favorite. It's so simple yet so powerful. You get the story is a second. Sad, but funny. I like it a lot. Terry (19 years ago, 23-May-05, to lugnet.build.vignette, FTX)

  Space Vignette: Asphyxiate, Too

I spent some time over the weekend working up some new (URL) vignettes>, mainly working on my theme of a "Bricktionary" of one-word-themed entries. I thought I had a pretty good go with (URL) Asphyxiate>, but someone pointed out that the minifig (...)   Vignette: Asphyxiate

Here's another Bricktionary entry I completed today: "Asphyxiate". It's a vignette in three stories... (URL) ((URL) Clicky> to go to the Brickshelf Folder) It starts out with a Janitor maybe a bit too excited about finding a discarded candy bar, and (...)   Vignette: Clandestine

I'm working on more of my "one word" vignettes for my Bricktionary. I got a couple of them done so far today - the first one is "Clandestine" (URL) (Clicky to go to the brickshelf folder) Thank goodness for the Harry Potter sets and their little (...)   Re: Track and Field vignettes

Hey Bruce, Great work as always... these all have a certain 'cute' feel to them and the scale is excellent in its 'figness'. Thanks and God Bless, Nathan (19 years ago, 20-May-05, to lugnet.build.vignette, FTX)

  Re: Checkers vignette

(...) Oh yes, I meant to point that out. I intentionally cut the board size/complexity in half, for a couple of reasons (beyond the obvious one of 1x1 plates being a bit too big for minifig-scale checkers!). First, it seems to me that objects in (...) (19 years ago, 20-May-05, to lugnet.build.vignette, lugnet.town, FTX)

  Re: Checkers vignette

(...) Kind of a small board/simple game they have going on! (...) Xposted to .town because this fits INTO a town scene. Which is a cool idea! I like the idea of vignettes that also go somewhere else... almost as much as I like composite vignettes (...) (19 years ago, 20-May-05, to lugnet.build.vignette, lugnet.town, FTX)

  Checkers vignette

Here's a little vignette I made for the park in the LEGO town my son and I like to play in. It's just a couple of old guys playing checkers. (URL) Click the image to see a few other views at the BrickShelf gallery. OK, so it's not much, but hey, I'm (...) (19 years ago, 20-May-05, to lugnet.build.vignette, FTX)

Bruce - I love the use of two flags to represent a tearing ribbon! It adds a tremendous dynamism what otherwise could be a static looking scene. Brilliant! -Rob A> (...) (19 years ago, 20-May-05, to lugnet.build.vignette)

Oops, I forgot to give credit to (URL) Andrew Hovartits>. He posted his (URL) track vig> at about the same time that I was making my pole vault vig, and it was the inspiration for me to go on and make the series. I also drew inspiration from his (...)
