I would suggest that you start by practicing curved shapes using only
regular bricks. Try making circles of different diameters, and once
you have that mastered, try to make a sphere (ball) shape. I think
that this is the most important skill in LEGO sculpture.

You can also try Andrew Lipsons site ((URL) ) and use his models to practice.The only instructions that are brick by brick is the klein bottle so they'll be a challenge, but it gives you a feel (...)
