Hi everybody!

As many of you know, I do a lot of commissioned LEGO sculptures... and as a result it’s rare nowadays that I can find the time to make creations of my own!

I’m happy to say I made a bit of time for myself recently and made these two sculptures. Yes, they’re editorial, and no, I’m not fishing for flame wars :) ... I just thought I’d pass them along to anyone who may have missed them in the shuffle. It’s like a breath of fresh air to be able to create something for myself for a change! :)

SUV.
Even at today’s record oil prices, the price of gas in the US is still half that of most European countries. Americans have gotten so used to cheap gas that they’ve decentralized their cities and drive 3 times more than any other nation. As an American who loved driving but hated having to drive, I made the decision 8 years ago to move into a city and have long since gotten rid of my car. (I even bought a bike this week!) :) I just love the freedom that non-automotive travel gives me. It boggles my mind that Americans raised in a family sedan now “need” a boxy monstrous SUV to move a sole toddler around.

Maintaining Normality
This one’s way more abstract, and I talk about my inspriation a bit more on the page, so there’s no need to blather about it here as well. :)

Enjoy, (or hate it) :) Sean
