Re: LEGO Sculpture: A Birthday Cake

(...) Hey, March 9th is my birthday as well! I'll be 28. Jason (22 years ago, 7-Mar-03, to lugnet.build.sculpture)

Re: LEGO Sculpture: A Birthday Cake

(...) I like it! I'm dissapointed to see it has somebody else's name on it. My birthday is March 9 and I was hoping my wife had it done up for me :) I hope Ms Wedderspoon enjoys her cake. Take Care Patrick (22 years ago, 7-Mar-03, to lugnet.build.sculpture)

  LEGO Sculpture: A Birthday Cake

Thematically I suppose I could have waited a couple of weeks and announced this small sculpture on my own birthday, but I'm sure I'll have something else to announce by then, so here goes: (URL) welcome, eric (22 years ago, 6-Mar-03, to lugnet.build.sculpture, lugnet.general, lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.build) !

New newsgroups for Micro-scale building, Mosaics, and Sculpture

Three new newsgroups in the lugnet.build hierarchy have been created for the focused discussion of specialty building. Micro-scale building (as in "microfig" scale) is coming into its own in a big way, thanks in a large way recently to the efforts (...)   Re: What type of LUG marker? (was Re: New Mosaic: Map of the USA)

(...) The problem is that there would be such a huge density of dots in certain locations that it would just get unweildy. It already is that case for the Bay Area, with its high dot concentration at Brickswest. I think just having one instance of (...) (...) studs (...) Not to mention, I don't happen to have 500 plates in each of the 25 available colors to donate.... (You know, there is a reason why Trans-Neon-Green was used, after all....)   Re: Prepackaged Lego Mosaic - Color distribution?

(...) LOL! S@H package with all four mosaic kits came today and the color distributions I listed earlier are verified: (URL) had to satisfy my curiosity about the extra Dino bags so I did a quick part count from the instructions. The surplus bags (...) (22 years ago, 25-Feb-03, to lugnet.build.sculpture)

Re: What type of LUG marker? (was Re: New Mosaic: Map of the USA)

(...) I don't think Chris meant 25 all in the same year. 3 fests = about 8 years worth of dots before you run out of colors. Whether that actually works or not would be a different question (I suspect once you get above 3 or 4 studs high you are (...)   Re: LEGO Relief Mosaic: PEGASUS

Hey that's nice! I like how you use classice styling to bring new techniques to Mossaic making. Just terrific. e (URL) (22 years ago, 24-Feb-03, to lugnet.build.sculpture)

Re: LEGO Mosaic: Auburn University logo

Hey Eric, Nice job. Is the War Eagle next? *ducks* Seriously, I like the idea of trying it studs-right. I might try that with my next mosiac. Again, very nice job, and thanks for pointing out my Gator head. Go Gators! :) -Anne (...) -- It might look (...) (22 years ago, 24-Feb-03, to lugnet.build.sculpture, lugnet.general)

  LEGO Mosaic: Auburn University logo

Well, I bet I had a much easier time building the Auburn University logo: (URL) Anne did building her Florida Gators logo: (URL) thing I really don't give a damn about schools, football teams, or such, or we might get a LEGO rivalry started [grin].   Re: What type of LUG marker? (was Re: New Mosaic: Map of the USA)

(...) I don't think that I'll be sending the map to 25 different gatherings, thanks. At $60 or so each way for shipping, it would add up awfully fast! The three main US fests are certainly a good place to start. I'm still wondering how to handle (...)   Re: What type of LUG marker? (was Re: New Mosaic: Map of the USA)

(...) I like the idea of leaving them on as long as possible. There are at least 25 colors of 1x1 round plates, so you could potentially include a whole boat-load of gatherings. Hmmm...I wonder if I could paint my LUGNET member number on the top (...) (22 years ago, 23-Feb-03, to lugnet.build.sculpture, lugnet.events.brickswest, lugnet.events.brickfest, lugnet.org)

  Re: LEGO Relief Mosaic: PEGASUS

(...) Who could have thought an all white mosaic would turn out that good? The best thing about it though, IMHO, is the lettering. Very nice! Best regards, /Tobbe (URL) SPAM when e-mailing) (22 years ago, 20-Feb-03, to lugnet.build.sculpture)

  Re: LEGO Relief Mosaic: PEGASUS

(...) That's cool! You keep coming up with more innovative styles of mosaics. Calista in ASCII, the SNOT Mad Hatter, and now a relief. What other tricks do you have up your sleeve? Can't wait to see this in person at Brickfest. Adrian -- (URL) (22 years ago, 19-Feb-03, to lugnet.build.sculpture)

  Re: LEGO Relief Mosaic: PEGASUS

(...) Wow. (speechless as always...) Is there a backing on this or is that just one brick thick (except for the extra stud in depth of the raised areas)? Haven't you run out of room yet?! John #388 (22 years ago, 19-Feb-03, to lugnet.build.sculpture)

  Re: LEGO Relief Mosaic: PEGASUS

(...) Once again, an inspiring job. Unlike your Mad Hatter, this one gives me hope that maybe I could actually make a mosaic ;) Again, very nicely done! Can't wait to see what you do next! Take care Dave K (22 years ago, 19-Feb-03, to lugnet.build.sculpture)
