| | Large-scale promo sculpture of Viking minifig
|
|
I found this on BrickShelf from someone's coverage of LEGOWORLD 2005. Looks like an official LEGO Master Builder put together this sculpture of a viking minifig as a promotion for the new line of sets. (URL) the image for an even larger version) (...) (...) I'd actually tend to agree :) I worked from a profile photo of a real woman... in the photo she was heavily made up (eyeliner, lipstick, etc), and it wasn't until well after I was a ways into the model that I stepped back and realized how (...) (...) Hey Sean! Pretty nice work! Although I have to say the red one looked like a guy with a ponytail and a moustache. I was pretty surprised it was supposed to be a woman! Still, nice work! Bill Vollbrecht <www.brickcreations.com> (18 years ago, 3-May-06, to lugnet.build.sculpture, FTX)

Hi again, everybody! Back in February I was asked to build three life-size monochromatic human busts. They were included in Herman Miller's award-winning design magazine, "SEE", alongside an article about the humanization of architecture and design. (...) Felix: (...) This is so great! I love the expression, the eyes, teeth, and head shape are just perfect. And rowboats for shoulders! I love it! I hope this is the start of a series of similar MOCs... if so, I can't wait to see them! :) Sean (URL) (...) (19 years ago, 23-Apr-06, to lugnet.build.sculpture, FTX)

(...) Felix, really nice! He looks like the rabbit from Wallace and Gromit's latest film - and I really like the look on the face - the nuanced emotions you can get from your sculptures is simply amazing! I hope to see this in person (or is that in (...) (19 years ago, 18-Apr-06, to lugnet.build.sculpture, FTX)

(...) Funny you mention what I might pull out of my hat next-- I've had builders block for a few months now. I've had no shortage of ideas, but every time I sat down to put an idea into form I was never satisfied. I associate building with relaxing (...) (...) Thanks for the kind words. I'm happy with the paws especially. I often want just one piece to serve a purpose but don't want to add a lot to make it stay in place. (19 years ago, 18-Apr-06, to lugnet.build.sculpture, FTX)
