Wow this is REALLY REALLY cool. Im in the process of building a mosaic using
plates on their sides (studs pointing upwards). Im not done yet, but the
pattern on the plan I created (using Bricksaic) could be better. Its not
Bricksaics fault - the pattern Im trying to re-create is probably too complex
for the small area Im putting it in, so your technique may help improve detail.
My immediate question is though, can your mosaic be built for real without using
glue? I havent visualized the building process, but you might need to get very
creative when matching up the vertical units with the horizontal ones...
Ill definitely give you credit if/when I get this thing to work.
