What's the status of LEGO 48x48 mosaics?

LEGO has stopped selling the 48x48 mosaics at LLCA and via lego.com. Anyone know
why or if this is permament or if there is a new plan?

| (...) I sent out some feelers a few weeks ago when I noticed the entire category had disappeared from US S@H, but have not heard anything definitive. I was also trying to push the idea that Brick-o-Lizer be kept as a design tool online even if the (...) (19 years ago, 1-Jun-05, to lugnet.build.mosaic)
