(...) I acquired that head in a small eBay lot a few months ago. I put it in a "special bag" for future reference. I thought that head was different... I had only seen a similar version with an eyepatch on Capt. Redbeard. The head I have came from a (...) (25 years ago, 27-Nov-00, to lugnet.build.minifigs, lugnet.pirates, lugnet.loc.au)

Check my webpage again...I hope this helps I tried to provide a few pics (in a whimsical way) illustrating the difference between the two heads in question = ) The head in 6706 is a couple shades darker than the head on my mercenary.
