No, I don't know that you are. Ok, maybe minority, but not alone anyway.
Mark S. certainly likes the new hair as well, and I don't mind it (my first
thought after seeing it was "Hey, if they mold it in blond then I can make
Guile from Street Fighter").

I'm actually quite excited about the new catalog: 4 stud diameter small
technic wheels in black... finally! Now if only they'd make grey and silver.
8 stud diameter cylinder pieces... cool (but I'd still like 5 and 6 stud
diameter ones). And new colours: though I can't think of any use for the
pale purple offhand

it's good to know the grey-green isn't exclusive to the statue of liberty
(good for dilapidated space creations), but more importantly... is that a
new bluish-grey? (Check out the toes of 7313: the printed slope appears to
be blue-grey, and it's bordered by light grey and blue). Finally, the
potential for Tie Fighters in the correct colour!

However, I do think the 2 new Star Wars Technic sets are a disappointement,
to say the least; certainly nothing compared to the Episode 1 Droid sets. Oh
well, I'm sure there's a use for Gold pieces. And I can't figure out the new
Racer sets; are those meant to be Duplo perhaps?

That's just excitement for new pieces and colours, mind you. I'm
disappointed there are no town sets at all, but possibly new castle (etc)
will be coming with the next catalog? The larger Star Wars sets are all
pleasant surprises (I wasn't expecting to want Watto's set at all).

Yeah, count me in as generally excited too, although I can see where someone
exclusively into non sci-fi themes would be disappointed.

I like the new hairpiece too! Well, it looks like a muffin, but a new hairpiece is always nice. I also thought about making it in blonde (tan), but for another reason... "Lt. Surge" from Pokémon... Or maybe he has light brown hair? I don't really (...) (24 years ago, 26-Oct-00, to lugnet.build.minifigs)
