  Flash Minifig

I was walking to work this morning and saw the linked Flash minifig picture taped to someone's second story window on 18th near Hartford in San Francisco. It looks too well rendered to be CGI and too sharply painted to be a painted custom. Maybe (...) (22 years ago, 30-Oct-02, to lugnet.build.minifigs)

Re: LEGO NBA Draft has started...

(...) Don't feel bad about not knowing Toni Kukoc, he was a pretty good role player with the Chicago Bulls during the Jordan era, but has done little else of note since then. He is from Croatia, so naturally he is white. Kobe Bryant is black, (...) (22 years ago, 30-Oct-02, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build.minifigs, lugnet.starwars)

Re: LEGO NBA Draft has started...

(...) Kukoc is caucasian, so it looks like they got around the "yellow" issue by making black and white players with out using yellow. That kind of keeps a balance in the LEGO world. jt (22 years ago, 29-Oct-02, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build.minifigs, lugnet.starwars)

Re: LEGO NBA Draft has started...

(...) Woo-hoo! Bring on Mace and Lando! Very interestingly, they have two colors here. I'll have to display my basketball ignorance here, but I don't know the players Kukoc and Kidd. Does the tan head indicate an African-American with a lighter (...) (22 years ago, 29-Oct-02, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build.minifigs, lugnet.starwars)

  Movie Minifigs

I was messing around with minifigs while sorting bricks this weekend and I decided to try uploading to Brickshelf for the first time and see how pictures turn out. I've already learned I need to reduce file size! Some fun with movie characters (...) (22 years ago, 22-Oct-02, to lugnet.build.minifigs)

  Re: Admiral Ackbar custom

Thanks! Stefan Garcia has it right, MLCad is the program I used. And it can be yours too for the very low price of: FREE! That's right, FREE!   Re: Admiral Ackbar custom

Thanks! It's the grey imperial torso from 7201 "Final Duel II" set; in MLCad I can mak it any color i want. I got to thinking about this afterward & I figured in real life a plain white torso or a white racing torso: (URL) be the closest that's been (...)   Re: Admiral Ackbar custom

(...) Great job Jeff! How hard is it to use cpu drawing systems anyways? Hasta la Vista, Sean (22 years ago, 9-Oct-02, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.build.minifigs)

  Admiral Ackbar custom

It's a trap! Nope, it's just a custom minifig. (URL) (22 years ago, 9-Oct-02, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.build.minifigs)

  Lando poll

I've put up a new poll to see whether the LUGNET community would rather see a Lando minifig made in brown or yellow: (URL) Rev. Brendan Powell Smith (22 years ago, 4-Oct-02, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.build.minifigs)

  Re: Hussars!

(...) Sean, It's an entirely LEGO solution: the bottom tyre rests on the head and is locked in place with a 1x1 round plate (push down hard - the tyre will flare slightly over the head). Another 1x1 round plate is put on top, then the second tyre, (...) (22 years ago, 4-Oct-02, to lugnet.pirates, lugnet.build.minifigs)

  Re: Hussars!

(...) Sorry its taken me so long to respond to this. You did a great job Richie, but did the tires stick to them selves or is there something inbetween the tires holding them together? Just wondering... Hasta La Vista, Sean (22 years ago, 3-Oct-02, to lugnet.pirates, lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.build.minifigs)

Re: Horse Artillery (was Re: Hussars!)

(...) Magnifique! I like the uniforms, the carriage, and the gun is wonderful - so simple, so elegant, so, just so! Most excellent. I already have a half dozen red Hussar types sitting on my monitor. Now its off to build some light field pieces. i (...) (22 years ago, 29-Sep-02, to lugnet.pirates, lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.build.minifigs)

  Horse Artillery (was Re: Hussars!)

(...) Actually there is.... Port Brique now has horse artillery. ;-) (URL) horse artillery? Because I had a few spare blue torsos, and a lot more of those old tyres... and some superficial research showing horse artillerists wearing large busbies. (...)   Re: Hussars!

Eeep! I've been off the board too long -- I come back and the Hussars have arrived -- in fine looking fashion no less! Well, nothing like quite like cavalry to tip the scales in a boarding action... Huh? Well, a good disincentive for a landing (...) (22 years ago, 28-Sep-02, to lugnet.pirates, lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.build.minifigs)

  Hussars!

Ahoy! I've always likes James Howse's idea of Russian hats made from old style tyres (see pics at (URL) note: the use of tyres as hats dates back to at least 1975.) Nice hats, but not really in my prefered era or region. Recently, though, I was (...) (22 years ago, 22-Sep-02, to lugnet.pirates, lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.build.minifigs)
