Yeah, these designs are great -- esp. the Greek Warrior action.

But here is the thing with customization: you have to stay within the look
and feel of regular bricks or you run the risk of looking and feeling like a
whole other kind of toy.  Once it looks like something else -- it is
something else.  I am an artist in traditional media, so once it veers off
of looking right for brick related fun, I might as well be doing something
else -- perhaps actually sculpting in clay, carving from alabaster, or some
such thing.

Consider MB's new Dragons stuff.  Now we all might like the Dragons stuff;
but honestly, how good do TLC minis look side by side with Dragons minis?
To me, they look like completely different toys.  And for me they do not
work well together.  This basically means I will not be buying any Dragons
stuff.  Keep in mind that I really liked the MB knights that came in the
larger Blok Bots sets -- those were great!  I wish Dragons had been more
like that.  I am not against clone armies, not at all.  It's a look and feel
thing.

Here's what I do wish: I wish people like Jeff Byrd, Peter Hale, Craigo
Hamilton, Chidley (sp?), Binky, Kyle Peterson, or even us two Richards were
offered good $$$ by TLC or MB to design really cool stuff that would be put
into production and offered as minifigure sets. Then we could have variety,
authenticity, and even availability of the right looking stuff.  But
basically one gets the feeling that TLC does not care about this market, not
unless it is VERY convenient for them in some way.

Anyway, cool stuff -- maybe TLC will knock off the great helm as they did my
wing holder in the Studios sets.  Too bad they didn't get the two studs
right, but what else is new (::grumble::). [note: I trust everyone remembers
this page: http://members.aol.com/blueofnoon/lego/lego.htm and takes note
that the studio element in green and grey is very close to my design (the
purpose of which is to put studs on the back of a mini).  A small thing, but
there it is. They could have had it from me 3+ years ago.]
