Mega Bloks M1A1 Abrams Tank —Christopher J. Dean
Hey everyone. I usually don't post in this newsgroup, but I thought some people would like to see that Mega Bloks is coming out with a M1A1 Abrams Tank. Below is a link I found on Toyrsrus.com. The list price is about $29.99. According to the (...) (22 years ago, 23-Sep-02, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: Mega Bloks M1A1 Abrams Tank —Daniel Siskind
They're missing two sets of roadwheels! Looks more like a Challenger than a M1A1... My four year old could build better! Ach! Still, they'll probably sell a million of them... damned insensitive profiteers. It's like going to Wal-Mart: All those (...) (22 years ago, 27-Sep-02, to lugnet.build.military)

(...) Point me to a LEGO model in the last 50 years with an equivalent part count and price and which was as scrupulously accurate as you're demanding the MegaBloks model to be. Those six-wide LEGO trains and four-wide LEGO vehicles and doorless (...) (22 years ago, 29-Sep-02, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: Mega Bloks M1A1 Abrams Tank —Frank Kopanitsanos
(...) I have to agree with you Dave. Megabloks may not be original, but it gives people what they want and for a lot better price. I'm not saying lego is bad, but some of the stuff they have been coming out with is over priced and lacking in (...) (22 years ago, 30-Sep-02, to lugnet.build.military)

(...) <sarcasm alert! :-) > (...) While I agree with the above, I think Dan might referring more to the fact that this model is being released in desert camo (gee, for use where?), then that it's a military model that is well done and meeting the (...)       (...) Debate?! Bah! You're only sending it there because you're afraid to face me on my home turf of ot.clones! Dave! (22 years ago, 30-Sep-02, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: Mega Bloks M1A1 Abrams Tank —Dave Schuler
(...) You know, now that I think about it, has the M1A1 been used in combat anywhere *except* desert terrain? Regardless of Desert Storm Part Deux, I suppose a case could be made for sand camo as the "default" color for that kit. Tamiya's had a nice (...)          Re: Mega Bloks M1A1 Abrams Tank —Larry Pieniazek
(...) I agree. As far as we know(1), the M1A1 hasn't been used in real combat anywhere other than desert terrain. It was designed for deployment to the tanker's paradise of Northern Europe though, right? 1 - this is an important caveat. fnord. (22 years ago, 30-Sep-02, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: Mega Bloks M1A1 Abrams Tank —Evan Butzlaff
Why doesn't Lego make any military?!?! There's no licencse to be had, is there? And don't give me that violence spiel! What explains all of the themes that are based around the ever appearing violence? Castle (Impaling and cleaving each other, Sort (...) (22 years ago, 1-Oct-02, to lugnet.build.military)
