Sorry to take so long in responding to this ...
The peerless Mr. Mike Rayhawk made an excellent point (as he is wont to do); he
mentioned that one could simply slip a very small (2-3 mm) length of flex
tubing over the hand-attachment stub. This is a technique that has been used
in a number of MOCs - the thin hand pins fit perfectly. And, of course, the
flex tubing is perfectly sized to a minifig's hand.
Voila! No more loose grips!
