I should have posted this sooner, but I'd like to say that Bryan did a
fantastic job on the A-10.  Mark is absolutely correct in that Bryan had
only simple jpeg screenshots to aid him in the building of his model.  I'd
have been impressed with how well it turned out without knowing that it was
reverse engineered, but knowing the manner in which it was built makes it
that much more impressive.

I should also point out that Drew Lawrence has also posted some pics of one
of my designs.  His F-5 can be seen on brickshelf here:

http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=22620

and not to steal any of Bryan's thunder here, I think that Drew did a great
job as well.

I'd like to thank the both of them ( and I should mention Matthias
Martensson here too as well) for letting me see what my designs look like in
the real brick.  I couldn't agree more with those who say that the actual
ABS beats looking at renders any day.

I too would like to see some "militarized" colors from TLG.  I think that
given the recent explosion in the colors made available, we should be seeing
some fairly soon.  As for Bryan's A-10 color scheme, USAF A-10's currently
wear light grey warpaint.  I'm not sure if this is due to a shift in A-10
operations to higher altitudes but it is most likely that the US armed
Forces just got a really good deal on a lot of grey paint.  Still some olive
drab parts wouls be welcome.

If you're reading this Bryan, I'd love to see how you've added the GAU-8
cannon into your model.  I've never been able to add more than a simple
barrel and ammo drum in my versions.

(...) I think Mark gave me more credit than was due - all I have is a simple barrel and ammo drum, just like your pictures indicated. :) I could fit a longer cannon in (using a technic axle), but I don't know how it interacts with the drum so that (...) (...) What's more, Bryan eyeballed it (no instructions, just the pics to work from). And you can't see it, because he hasn't installed opening doors/hatches yet, but he even included internal gatling cannon detail. Yup, I love how many LEGO builders (...)
