I've finished my latest MOC, a WWII-era Messerschmitt Me-109.  I guess it's
an Me-109E, since that's the only model with an pointed spinner.  It's
dimensions are 32-studs(span) by 50-studs (length), so it's a bit larger
than what I usually build.  I also added some custom decals to add some
interest (sort of IV/JG.51).

Unique/new features (as far as I'm aware):

- Custom canopy using modified Windscreen 4 x 4 x 3 with Hinge.  Cutting
Legos with a Dremel is a sin to some people, but this was absolutely
necessary, and it inspired the entire project.

- Prop/spinner assembly made with 4x4 cone, 4x4 brick round with holes, (2)
hinge plate 1 x 8 with angled side extensions, and (2) click-brick technic
pins.  Yeah, I know, the Me-109 had a 3-blade prop, but a 2-blade is the
best I could do.

- And I liked how the ejector exhausts came out:

Flaky aspects:

- No landing gear.

- The minifig pilot can't have arms :(.

- 2-blade prop instead of 3 blades.

Anyways, hope you like it.  There's probably some room for improvement, so
let me know if you think of any.  (I already see where a light grey slope 55
6 x 1 x 5 would make a better tail.)

  Later,

  Gary

(...) Gary, It looks great, you're tempting me to get out my rotary tool and fix a Slave 1 canopy. Thanks, George (23 years ago, 14-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.military)

(...) Sorry, that was a typo, dimensions should be 64-studs(span) by 50-studs (length). Later, Gary (23 years ago, 14-Jan-02, to lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.build.military)
