Wow great job Bill! I love all of the hatches and the landing gear,

Thanks!  The main landing gear was probably the hardest part.  After much
banging of head against wall I realized that it was not working because the
wing was too thin.  I was working with a wing that was not quite 2 bricks
thick, so the base of the landing gear was too far from the ground, which mad
the engines too far apart.  I saw a documentary on the History Channel that
showed B-24's and I realized that the wings are quite thick.  So I rebuilt the
wing to be thicker, and this allowed me to make the gear shorter.

The model as a whole is very realistic, great job! I love the way you did the ball
turret up front and in the rear, very clever.

I came up with that design Friday night, the night before I brought it to the
club meeting.  For weeks I had a completely different design on the front, that
would rotate but not tilt up and down.  And the back was just a gun that went
left and right through a slit, like the "blister guns" on the sides of the
fuselage.  But then inspiration struck, and I thought of a way to to do real
ball turrets.  They came out quite well.  The nose should be redesigned a
little to give the nose turret more room to move, but other than that...

Great job Bill! Look forward to more creations from you!

Me too.  Hopefully I'll get a job soon, which will unfortunately cut back on my
time for LEGO however...  The only reason I got this done in only a month was
being unemployed.
