Hey Ryan, welcome to the board.
You've got a very nice model there. I'm really getting an F/A-22 meets
F/A-18 vibe off of it but that's probably intentional on your part. Your
use of the slope parts really help to give your model a "blended" look not
unlike some modern stealth aircraft, and I particularly like the way you've
slanted the intakes using hinge parts. The IR suppressing exhausts are
nicely done with the slope parts and remind me of the real world YF-23's
stealthy exhausts. I'm further impressed with how you've taken the plunge
and built in integral landing gear, which is something that I've not been
able to fit into my models. What part did you use for the T joint on the
nose gear? It looks to be some technic joint type part, but sadly my
experience with actual ABS technic parts is limited so I can't be sure.
As for constructive criticism, there really isn't much to pick at. The top
fuselage between the wings appears to be a little plain and flat, but on
actual military aircraft this area tends to be just so. You could think
about adding a dorsal airbrake of some sort, or extending the cockpit hump
rearwards making an avionics spine of some type. Of course these are just
asthetic suggestions as overall your model looks sound. The Harpy appears
to be a stealth aircraft, and those tend to be generally smooth and devoid
of all sorts of antennas and bulges present on attack craft and helos.
The Harpy obviously isn't your first model as it shows some clever building
techniques but I'd say that as a first Brickshelf post it's a success. Keep
sharing your MOCs.
