  Sidebar Updates?

Hi all, In case you haven't caught it lately, there's been a good deal of furor in some of the other groups about curatorship, page maintenance, etc. I wanted to solicit peoples' ideas and/or feedback regarding the .build.military sidebar. Some (...) (22 years ago, 8-May-02, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: Fieseler Storch airplane MOC by Klaus 'eastpole' Dobisch

(...) Just caught this, very nice! German planes are a goldmine for inspiration... Take care, Gary (22 years ago, 7-May-02, to lugnet.build.military)

  Ooh! Ooh!

Did anybody else catch this? (URL) love to see some more pictures of this. Wow! -s (22 years ago, 6-May-02, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: New Battle Carrier: HMS Venerable

(...) Thanks! (...) If you're referring to the green disks in the row that has the black strip running through it, those are actually guns mounted in open broadside ports. They're designed to be more powerful than the top mounted turrets, and fire (...) (23 years ago, 1-May-02, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.military)

Re: New Battle Carrier: HMS Venerable

(...) That ship is awesome! I especially like the (what I presume to be) giant anti-shipping weapons mounted right above the launch bay. Are those pieces mounted on the side of the ship hatches for fighters, missiles, or are they something entirely (...) (23 years ago, 25-Apr-02, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.military)

Re: Fieseler Storch airplane MOC by Klaus 'eastpole' Dobisch

(...) Ben, Having seen a 3/4 accurate reproduction of a Storch at our local airshow last summer, I really enjoyed seeing this model. I like the approach to the camoflage and that spotlight(?) beside it. That looks pretty keen too. Thanks for (...) (23 years ago, 30-Apr-02, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: Coast Guard Marine Protector Class Cutter

(...) I had thought about using the little yellow dinghy, but realized pretty quickly that it was woefully undersized for the space in the stern of the ship, and would look pretty silly, so I had to make my own from scratch. Glad it turned out well (...) (23 years ago, 29-Apr-02, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: Coast Guard Marine Protector Class Cutter

(...) Nice model, Adrian. I think my favorite detail is your little launch-boat. It's a nice alternative to using the ready-made yellow launch. Bruce (23 years ago, 29-Apr-02, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: Coast Guard Marine Protector Class Cutter

(...) Thanks. Maybe it'll kick off a spate of boat building, like I did with turbocycles a few months ago. Nothing like being a trendsetter :) Adrian -- www.brickfrenzy.com (23 years ago, 29-Apr-02, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: Coast Guard Marine Protector Class Cutter

(...) She looks beautiful! I like the hull and the mast. Now you've gone and made me want to fiddle with building boats :) David Kohrman (23 years ago, 29-Apr-02, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: Coast Guard Marine Protector Class Cutter

(...) Actually, I prefer to build non-snot hulls. Even though it's more pixellated, I like the smoother look of no studs much more. Getting the stripes to look good was a side benefit, though. I was trying to use the rails to get the bow of the ship (...) (23 years ago, 29-Apr-02, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: Coast Guard Marine Protector Class Cutter

(...) Adrian- that's a lovely, lovely thing. I especially like the way you've de-emphasized the pixellation of a non-SNOT hull (necessary to get those stripes, I imagine?) by curving the upper deck and rails; it's very, very effective. The lines of (...) (23 years ago, 29-Apr-02, to lugnet.build.military)

  New MOC - S-97 Fighter

I finally got a chance to build something... and SUPRISE... It ain't a mecha! ;-D --- URL: (URL) S-97 "Belyj Yastreb" (White Hawk) Country of Origin: Russia Company: Sukhoi Role: Space Superiority Fighter Arguably the best fighter available today, (...)   Coast Guard Marine Protector Class Cutter

From the "what the hell is Adrian going to build next?" file, comes this, a minifig scale model of the 87' Marine Protector class Coast Guard Cutter. It's on the town page. Check it out and have yourself a merry little seagoing time! Adrian -- (...) (23 years ago, 28-Apr-02, to lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.build.military)

  Re: HMLS Snottler II

(...) Very nice, Richie! I was feeling in need of some inspiration and then I stumbled onto this beauty! I was gladly surprised how well the SNOT design works for ships and have commenced building a space cruiser along much of the same design (...) (23 years ago, 28-Apr-02, to lugnet.build.military)

  Re: HMLS Snottler II

Hey wow! that's really neat, check out the way you made the Hull and all the details are really good. Good pictures too, nice, very nice! Legomaster www.mylegomaster.com (23 years ago, 25-Apr-02, to lugnet.build.military)

  HMLS Snottler II

I've uploaded some pictures of the Snottler II. It is a rebuild of the patrol boat Snottler, lengthened, widened and upgunned. (The forward 20 studs or so are a direct lift from the original Snottler). The Snottler II is a guided missile frigate, (...) (23 years ago, 25-Apr-02, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: New MOC: SDKFZ 251 Halftrack plus other posted

Some really nice models here. The level of detail is what I find fascinating, from the tank track wheels on the Panzer to the definition of the chopper nose (Getting the round shape with a square medium is really impressive). Really cool! Joe Meno (23 years ago, 25-Apr-02, to lugnet.build.military)

  Re: Heavy Missile Truck

(...) Thanks! Unfortunately, they don't really popup. :\ You have to pull them off and put in a technic peg connector so it has enough height to clear the edge of the truck. Jeff (23 years ago, 24-Apr-02, to lugnet.build.military)

Fieseler Storch airplane MOC by Klaus 'eastpole' Dobisch

Hi all! At 1000steine.de there is just uploaded a new gallery: Klaus has built a cool Fieseler Storch observation airplane in WWII Africa Corps colours. Check it out under: (URL) have seen it in real live two days ago and it looked even better as (...) (23 years ago, 24-Apr-02, to lugnet.build.military)
