  Armoured Ski Mobile

(2 URLs) BS> (if ever modded) (URL) Flickr> Well... Soren dared me to make this ski mobile (and kindly sent me the pics) so who was I to say no. I had lots of fun getting all the spindly bits in place but unfortunately I had to sacrifice the taper (...) (18 years ago, 2-Mar-07, to lugnet.build.military, lugnet.announce.moc, FTX)

  Re: Rhino Armored Vehicles

Soren, Thanks for the tip, I'll have another go at it when I can, although I'm about to move so it may not be for a little while. I'm thinking maybe some kind of large raiseable antenna or something. On a side note I'm a big fan of your tanks and (...) (18 years ago, 17-Feb-07, to lugnet.build.military, FTX)

  Re: Rhino Armored Vehicles

Jude Thanks for the comments! I just moved the Rhino to a display where it will be for a month, so I can't take pix of the suspension system, but it is basically a variant of what I've done in the past - I groups wheels in pairs - a little like (...)   Re: Rhino Armored Vehicles

(...) <SNIP> (...) Magnus, I really like these, I think you have continued to progress since BF. Do you have more detailed photos of the suspension? Thanks, Jude (18 years ago, 16-Feb-07, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: Four New 6208 B-Wing Alternate Models

(...) Thanks! You're right, those guns can be kind of conspicuous. I tried to mount them like cannons are mounted on real fighters: internally, with only the end of the barrel, if anything, protruding from the body. (...) Thanks again. Here is yet (...)   Re: Rhino Armored Vehicles

(...) Is there a need to prefer one over the other? There are so many camos in the real world and the more represented the better. Tim (18 years ago, 14-Feb-07, to lugnet.build.military)

  Re: Rhino Armored Vehicles

(...) The newish Mythical Creatures Creator set has been great for accumulating green and dark green parts. Thanks for your kind words on the camo, I still can't quite decide if I prefer the green/dark green/old dark grey camo or the green/dark (...) (18 years ago, 14-Feb-07, to lugnet.build.military)

  Re: Rhino Armored Vehicles

(...) Well, they are clearly map tiles, so that would have been the logical conclusion for me to make. However, big dynamic displays like that are useful or at least conceptually popular in that sort of application. The idea is to integrate data (...) Jim, (...) My bad - those are meant to be maps hanging on the wall, but if they look like "digital maps so to speak" that's cool too! (...) Something like that, yes! (...) I just took these: (URL) a very simple system, think of it as a tracked (...) (18 years ago, 14-Feb-07, to lugnet.build.military)

(...) -snip- (...) I'm not sure why your folder isn't public yet. The deep links link directly to the file name. Here's how I got to the deep links: 1) I went to one of your public folders, (URL) Rhino Brawler> for example. 2) I clicked on one of (...) (18 years ago, 13-Feb-07, to lugnet.build.military, FTX)

Mladen, (...) Hehe... (...) It uses the long curved slopes, which I think gives it a smoother look. (...) Thanks! (...) Cool, maybe I'll tinker with it. (...) Thanks! And naturally, there is a commanding officer to look over their shoulders as they work. The modular concept is neat. Any (...) (18 years ago, 13-Feb-07, to lugnet.build.military)

(...) You had me at "vicious-looking eyes". ;-) (...) Yeah, modular military vehicles really lend themselves to LEGO rendition. (...) This IFV has a sleeker front-end compared to your earlier ones. Or maybe it's those wider tracks, which give it (...) (18 years ago, 13-Feb-07, to lugnet.build.military, FTX)

  Re: Rhino Armored Vehicles

(...) Yeah maybe some snoke chargers, communications arrays and that sort of thing. The outside just looks a little barren to me (and I'm not exactly a lover of excessive greebling). (...) First tries of things are allowed to be a little weaker :) (...) (18 years ago, 13-Feb-07, to lugnet.build.military)

  Re: Rhino Armored Vehicles

Ted, Thanks for posting those, I know I've seen them before, but while I almost wish I could say that naming my MOC the Rhino was a subtle nod to Warhammer, the Warhammer Rhino had slipped my mind. I'd like to do something more spacey some time, and (...) (18 years ago, 13-Feb-07, to lugnet.build.military, FTX)

  Re: Rhino Armored Vehicles

Tim, (...) Thanks for the kind words. The Commander and the Protector are pretty much the same with minor differences on the outside, and then obviously different interiors. (...) --snip-- (...) Hi Magnus, Great work as usual. I love the way you've used the eye piece in all of them to give them that evil glare. The only one I'm not so keen on is the Commander.   Rhino Armored Vehicles
