  Re: Messerschmitt Me 323

(...) Very nice. Lots of great details. I especially like how you integrated the nose geometry into the main body of the fusulage. With the nose stud pattern angled up at about 25 degrees or so I was surprised to see how well you tied this back in (...) (18 years ago, 11-Jan-07, to lugnet.build.military)

  Messerschmitt Me 323

Hello Everybody! I just wanted to present my newest airplane MOC: the Messerschmitt Me 323 Transporter. I presented this model at the fan event in Frechen together with a little diorama: (URL) information about the actual building of the model: It (...)   Re: Aliens Style APC

(...) Magnus, Thanks for the comments. You can squish 15 troops inside plus the driver and gunner in the seat shown. If you're really into the harsh reality of militaristic economics, you can get about 22, maybe 23 tops in there ;-) Cheers! ~ Paul. (18 years ago, 10-Jan-07, to lugnet.build.military, FTX)

  Re: Aliens Style APC

(...) Thanks Marco! The steering front and back are not connected. Would be a great idea though and totally possible. There's enough room under the vehicle with a slightly modified floor. And plus my son likes driving the vehicle sideways with both (...) (18 years ago, 10-Jan-07, to lugnet.build.military, FTX)

  Re: Aliens Style APC

(...) Tim, I used the technic wheels from set 8842 from 1986. My dad bought me that set way back then and it was a favourite because it had steering that worked and a simplistic engine with moving piston when you pushed it along the floor. (...)   Re: Aliens Style APC

(...) Wolf, Yes I toyed with the idea of making it a few studs wider originally, but the scale of the vehicle looked out of place with the wheel diameter... and those are the only wheels in my collection (from 1980's technic set ;-) that would work. (...) (18 years ago, 10-Jan-07, to lugnet.build.military, FTX)

  Re: Aliens Style APC

Paul, Ah, I was admiring this the other day - very nice work! How many troops does it fit on the inside? I know how hard it can be to balance functionality and scale, and I think you've done a great job. I like the slightly sloped roof and you've (...)   Re: Aliens Style APC

Hello Paul, this is a true spotlight! I just had to login and answer. I like the details of the interior. And I love the playability. Great work. I wonder how you did that sliding door. It looks fantastic in the animation. And what about the wheels, (...) (18 years ago, 9-Jan-07, to lugnet.build.military, FTX)

  Re: Aliens Style APC

(...) The movie showed the turret mounted an a pair of rails that curved over the back end of the vehicle. The guns pointed sideways and the whole turret then traveled backwards and then down the back until it was tucked in behind so they could (...)   Re: Aliens Style APC

(...) Hi Paul, You keep sneaking these things past me by not cross-posting to a theme group. I really love this. I'm a real sucker for Alien and its sequels so anything from them arouses my interest and this is a most excellent build. I find the (...) (18 years ago, 9-Jan-07, to lugnet.build.military, FTX)

  Re: Aliens Style APC

(...) Wow!!! Very nice! Really like the look and construction, good solution on the wheels. Just my initial reactions, now I have to look more and explore further details.. :) (18 years ago, 9-Jan-07, to lugnet.build.military, FTX)

  Re: Aliens Style APC

(...) The APC is wonderfully constructed. Just sweet. If I recall, I believe the movie version was wider (or at least seemed to be--more low slung, perhaps; I suspect that's what you were commenting on in terms of the boxy-ness. Would widening the (...)   Re: The Shag Wagon Urban Assault Vehicle

Paul, Amazing! This is easily the most original thing on .build.military in a long time. I think my favorite part is the small arms storage in the back. This is reminiscent of Mask from the '80s, if anyone remembers that (sort of GI Joe meets (...) (18 years ago, 3-Jan-07, to lugnet.build.military, FTX)

Re: The Shag Wagon Urban Assault Vehicle

(...) Very nice, Paul. I love the playability of that monster ride. But, I gotta tell you, I think there is still room for a few more weapons under the hood! ;) ---Will Chapman BrickArms LLC (18 years ago, 2-Jan-07, to lugnet.build.military, FTX)

Re: The Shag Wagon Urban Assault Vehicle

(...) Very cool! This could easily be re-colored into a "James Bond"-type vehicle. All we need is a flamethrower, a minelayer, and an oil slick sprayer. Still, it's 'shagalicious' just as is. Maybe I'll steal some ideas from you for an 'Urban (...) (18 years ago, 2-Jan-07, to lugnet.build.military, FTX)

Re: The Shag Wagon Urban Assault Vehicle

(...) Wow, not every dad in the world would build a shag wagon for his son! Wow the therapy bills are gonna' be astronomical. Giggle. (Sorry, could NOT resist!) I love how you managed to cram so much detail and function into such a small package. To (...) (18 years ago, 2-Jan-07, to lugnet.build.military, FTX)

Re: Snowmobile tread for military tanks?

(...) yea i noticed that. the new tracks look pretty beefy. finaly something realistic to model with. the color is ok, i would prefer black as well but at least there not pink. With the new tracks maybe i should think about building that 16/th (...) (18 years ago, 1-Jan-07, to lugnet.build.military)

  Snowmobile tread for military tanks?

The new snowmobile really caught my eye. Set #8272 with the new wide tread links. (URL) have not seen the links up close and in person, but do you think they may be useful for a minifig-scale tank? The treads look a little bit too wide. And the (...) (18 years ago, 31-Dec-06, to lugnet.build.military)
