I don’t have *computer* problems, all our computers work fine for all the other things I and the rest of my family want to do. I have a *software* problem with LDD, in that it has unreasonable system requirements, in my view.

   Something MUST be messed up.

I would argue it’s the system requirements that LDD expects. We buy new machines every 2-3 years, it’s what we choose to do, and it’s not reasonable to expect people to have the very latest and greatest every 6 months.

As a software architect, one of my mottos is “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it”. Why tear out a perfectly good piece of software or hardware that is meeting business requirements just to replace it with something spiffier? My clients can’t stand that sort of advice. Sometimes this annoys the salespeople trying to sell (our) new software but I think doing the right thing for the client is more important in the long run.

I think LDD is a great thing, but I think the requirements for it were improperly spec’ed. LEGO seems to have a habit of this, we’ve seen it in other software as well.

Er, sorry, off soapbox.

BTW, nice job on the display. I agree that (...) (20 years ago, 16-Dec-04, to lugnet.build.microscale, lugnet.cad, FTX)
