Introducing my first mecha... The EKC-1 Scout.

<http://www2.ci-n.com/~esdavis/mecha/finalpose3.jpg>

This was my first attempt at a mecha.  It began as an armature for another
project, and turned into something else.  You can read the full story here:

<http://www2.ci-n.com/~esdavis/mecha/FirstMecha.html>

The mecha stands about a 12 inches tall, and is fully posable (with some
limits).  The head functions as a cockpit for a clone-trooper minifig.  The top
and back of the head swing open to allow access to the minifig.

Some fictional background for those who like that sort of thing:

The EKC-1 Scout was manufactured by the Bessie-Freyr corporation for light
reconnaissance missions in arctic or wintery conditions.  For weaponry, it
sports twin lasers and dual cannons, mostly used for defense.  An internal array
of long-range scanners enables the crew of one to quickly survey a battlefield
and relay information back to a central command post via radio transmission.

The sleek, rounded armor of the EKC-1 enable it to blend well with arctic
terrain, and it's light frame enables it to move quickly when compared to the
larger mechanized units that it comes in contact with.

Currently employed by the United Planetary Federation (UPF) for peace-keeping
missions, this unit has seen duty on Hal-Mara, Nok-Tran, and several other small
planets.

As this is my first mecha, any feedback is appreciated!

This ain't bad. You got a pretty workable armature there I think. More basic than Gla Gla's but easier for the average Lego builder to reproduce I think. I'd suggest trying to eliminate one of the braces (technic beams)for the arms and perhaps the (...) (21 years ago, 7-Oct-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Elroy, I've been trying to find time to post about your debut MOC. I like this one so much, I saved it for last just to keep some attention on it a bit longer. You've catptured something that so many builders miss: the ability to shape the form. (...) (21 years ago, 12-Oct-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)
