My first submission to space and/or mecha in ... actually, I don't know that
I've ever posted a space-ish MOC before.  So here goes:

http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=56638

Standing at just over two-minifigs-tall, the JuggerGnat (note spelling - *not*
juggerNAUT) is a small mech or large suit of power armor, depending on your
perspective.  It has 7 degrees of freedom in each leg, and 10 in each arm (plus
two in the head).  Clearly, it's heavily influenced by many many many of the
amazing MOCs one can see touring around the mecha newsgroup.

The official unveiling was yesterday during a BubbleGum Crisis themed Brikwars
game.  I'll be uploading some actions shots from gameplay shortly ...

Oh, yeah!  Credit goes to my wife for helping braid the three LEGO ropes
together into a power cord, connecting the gun to the mech chassis.  Little
fingers work wonders ...

Feedback, thoughts, suggestion ... let me know what you think.

thanks,
-s

(...) about this guy except the (slightly overexcessive) use of decorated tiles. Sort of jumbles things about a bit. But great joint tech - I really like the way the cockpit opens up. I need to get back to that style; I haven't done one of those for (...) (21 years ago, 14-Sep-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Shaun, The minifig arms as fingers are just awesome. I can't comment on the rest because I just keep staring at the hands. Totally bitchin'! (...) I have to say this is a very nice suit. Very good poseability. I definitelly see the influence of a lot of other suits I've seen, expecially some Japanese Lego builders. I have been studying the joint tech you used and may use it for the next (...) (21 years ago, 15-Sep-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Ooohh, pretty *stares and drools* I like: •The excellent adaptation of Gla-Gla's hand design. Gonna use that myself, if you don't mind. •The braided power cable, which incidentally just solved a problem I've been having... •The detail around the (...) (...) Hi Shaun, Wow! You have done a wonderful job with that suit! You have captured that industrial, excessive greebled look beautifully. I love the power cord - that's an idea that will have to be stolen. The bulky forearms really add a feeling of (...) (21 years ago, 15-Sep-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Shaun, as always, your creations inspire. As being one of the lucky few to have seen this up close and personal, I think it captured the theme perfectly. It's so easy to envision your MOC trudging around in some anime or a Robocop film. Now for the (...) (21 years ago, 16-Sep-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)
